Claire Fauvel
Claire Fauvel studied illustration at the (prestigious) Ecole Estienne, and then film animation at the Ecole des Gobelins in Paris. After working for a year as background artist for an animated series, she pursued her dream of becoming a graphic novelist to tell her own stories. She is now working with the publishers Casterman and Rue de Sèvres. In 2018, her graphic novel ‘Catherine’s War’, based on Julia Billet’s novel, won the youth prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. Her award-winning La Guerre de Catherine (Rue de Sèvres, 2012) was published in the UK as Catherine’s War in June 2020.
For this year’s edition of the South Ken Kids Festival, she is taking part in Impro! and will be running virtual workshops with schools as part of our Outreach programme.
